The Rise of the Liturgy

As a child I have no idea about the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) but I know that there is something more than what I see every time I go to church with my grandmother. I can see the remnant of the Catholic Traditionalism in her eyes and in her gestures every time she prays and goes to church.

By reading, research, and hearing stories from the elderly, I encountered the Traditional Latin Mass/Liturgies. I have been wondering for so many years if there will still be a possibility that the TLM will be alive again in the Church. I heard it was already forbidden. I expressed my desire to learn the TLM to one of the priest I know, after the Holy Father released the Sommurum Pontificum, his motu proprio, an Apostolic Letter on Use of the Preconciliar Liturgical Forms, which was published on July 7, 2007. The reaction I got was a negative one. He stated that "It is forbidden", of coarse I did not believe, the motu proprio is clear, "it has never been abrogated". Because of this I become more interested in learning more on the Traditional Liturgies.

My prayer at this time is that the Lord may guide me in my way to the Traditional Liturgies. I am thankful to God for giving a chance of going to the TLM three times. My three times experience is not enough I want for more. I learned through the internet that here in the Philippines there are already communities who are having regular TLMs. I am very happy for this.

One thing I am sure of this time. I may not learn the TLM, I may not be able to have time to go to one of the TLMs in the Philippines but the TLM will RISE and no one can stop it. Now I have already friends who express their desires for TLM and in God's time we will be part of the Rising of the TLM in our country. Amen.
